Forum questions - Summary posts
« on: April 01, 2009, 13:16:38 »
Hi Missizippi/Dario,
Just a general comment if ok here.
Is there any way of the administrators tagging stuff in the forums as “Summary Posts” or main points to note or something?
Many of us are finding that if we don’t visit the site for a week, there is such a Maze of info now on the site it is hard to find the new Wood from the Trees at times.

Not sure if forums do this? Just there is some good stuff in old threads and some good stuff in new threads. However, there is also a lot of general comments and “blurb” that people have to “wade” though all the time to get to the “meat” to some extent.
Please advise?
Many thanks
Mike

Hi Mike
I do sympathise, there is a huge amount of information on this forum and it is difficult to find the info that you want sometimes. As moderators we try and categorise posts by ensuring that they have a heading which is representative of the content and that it is posted on the correct board (as an example - why did you post your query in the section marked 'International Law Overseas 'ILP'')

If you are looking for a post but can't remember where it was, you could always use the 'search' facility on the forum and search by key words, or author if you remember who posted it?

Also, if you edit your profile, you can select to view all the most recent posts at the top - that way you can see easily any new posts without having to scroll through.

If you don't visit the site for a week and struggle to get through all the new stuff then maybe you are missing urgent posts or posts which require your input - perhaps logging in more regularly would make things easier? I'm afraid I never seem to log OUT these days.......
