Can anyone suggest a good solicitor.  I have emailed a few and not even had a reply.  We paid the deposit in 2006 for an apartment in The Orchard.  They have not even got planning permission yet for phase three and I want my money back.  It should have been completed in December 2008

just new here after seeing the site on watchdog!  But have a vested interest as i bought succesfully a BD property in the early days, and not so in the latter stages........ however after having used agents recommended lawyers and found them to be part of the agent, and obviously with there interests at heart, i took a recommendation from another well know bulgarian site and have used them for 2 years without a problem, always contactable, even provide a uk landline number which diverts to bulgaria!!

No, well I would cetainly no longer recommend this guy (Milen Hirstov) and so have removed mention of him from my website.
I was trying to sort out rental agreements between my company, me and tenants, see if there was a way not to pay social security contributions and declare income in UK...he came up with a scheme, charged me 200 Euros for documents which he took months to prepare, then did not do them all and demanded more money for rest, and now accountant (actually 2 or 3 of them) say that what he said is complete BS and does not work legally and makes my tax situation more complicated. He refuses to refund any of money and has just been rude instead. And I have recommended many clients to him.

Especially if you not choose wisely... Usually the embassies have a list of lawyers and then there are some websites with information like www.hg.org and also it is good to see any other referrals, opinions before you commit with a lawyer. Not that this will help now but...
